Beginning May 2018, clarinetist Jeremiah Cymerman will partner with Brooklyn’s Areté to present a monthly concert and conversation series as an extension of his popular and increasingly vital program, the 5049 Podcast. The series will feature a broad range of leading contemporary composers and instrumentalists whose work defy easy categorization. Each concert will be followed by a conversation in front of the audience between the performer and Cymerman, to be recorded for an episode of the podcast.

Toby Driver is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Brooklyn, NY. He is best-known as the bandleader of his avant-goth group, Kayo Dot, and has worked with modern forward-thinking luminaries such as Trey Spruance (Secret Chiefs 3, Mr. Bungle), John Zorn, Randall Dunn, G. Stuart Dahlquist (Burning Witch), Kevin Hufnagel (Gorguts), Ches Smith (Xiu Xiu, Evangelista), Jeremiah Cymerman, Mario Diaz de Leon, Peter Hopkins Miller, and many more.
